Samsung PN50B550 Review

Samsung PN50B650

If you’re looking for an 50 Inch Plasma HDTV then the Samsung PN50B650 deserves a second look. Externally, the touch of Appeal color design built on the clear glass beveled edge exudes sophistication and class. Internally, the glass and engine technology and the results of Samsung Full HD panel in the absence of a clear definition of free pictures vibrant ideal for sports and films alike.

In my opinion, I started in high definition television market looking for a 52 “LCD 1080p 120Hz specification. After a month of research, I realized that a mark with the names of all the specifications mentioned above is not my budget. I was not considered a plasma because I thought the technology was obsolete, the fear of image retention (IR), and the difference in weight heavier from plasma. But as I studied more in plasma learned that my fears were themselves obsolete. plasma technology was not outdated. Many companies continue to invest in R & D plasma IR security. This Samsung PN50B650 is also Energy Star-compliant, with the energy 40% less than plasmas previous years (based on Samsung’s website) and comparable to similarly sized LCDs. Regards to the weight, I was not too worried because my PN50B650 was not on a wall. Regardless, the difference in weight of an LCD is only 15 pounds or less. Also, this HDTV comes with an interesting stand, that allows you to rotate the TV for optimal viewing.

The only drawbacks that have so far are: FilterBright. Even with the technology built into the brightness of the screen is still a factor. I have my place in a room with no tents, but not direct sunlight and I’m changing the brightness control, sometimes for the use of daylight. While the media 2.0 is a great feature (and why I recommend this series on B550 for a few dollars extra), it can be slow at times.

Bottom Line

With high quality image and technology (eg, Cinema Smooth 24p frame rate), an interesting aspect of the TV, this Samsung PN50B650 has been a clear and only choice for me. Lastly, the other plasma I considered was G-10 from Panasonic. From some reviews, they gave G-10 slightly better opinions. However, the Samsung is a clear winner IMO. Hope my review is useful for you.
